I started working on myself analysing my past and my present to help me visualise my future. It helped to overcome past challenges but I was still unable to dream about the future.
I think this is probably one of the things that coaching has surprised me the most with: allowing myself to explore inside me what to do now and what I want to reach in the future. As you’d expect, I started by being very hesitant to change but slowly and at my own pace I started to allow myself to dream. I dreamt about where I want to be? What I want to reach? and yes, in 1 year, in 5 years, in 10 years... ohh wonderful things showed up and the feeling was overwhelming. I said to myself: I have to do it! I have to live up to my dreams!
The first thing I analyzed was to find out what I was the best at in my work and also what I enjoyed more about being a Retailer. And do you know what? It was the same thing: PEOPLE. Retail is all about People: I worked for my team and for the client. And we can be talking hours about motivation and customer service but people in retail needs to be engaged, listened, trained, motivated: they need to be coached.
In order to make these a reality I realised that I had to start changing what I was doing and helping others to reach their dreams too. So, I didn't want to miss any minute to learn and make my dream come true: I finalized my graduation 2 weeks before my second daughter born. And here I am, a graduated COACH! Loving this new path :)
